FISHING REPORT
8/3/12
Hola Amigos,
The fishing this week continued to be steady. On Tuesday boats got into a nice tuna bite about 8 miles out from Cabo Pulmo. Most of them were football size, but we did see a few up to 30lbs. The dorado bite picked up a bit. Some boats found dorado down by lighthouse point. Most were small to medium size, no bigger than 25lbs.
Later in the week the fishing really picked up with boats landing tuna from the North and South and even straight out 5 miles East of Palmas De Cortez. Mark Daugherty of East Cape Guides reported on a group that he hosted at Palmas De Cortez last week. On Thursday Mark reported that the group of 15 anglers landed 20 dorado, 35 tuna, a nice amberjack and a pargo. On Wednesday one member of the group landed a 250lb. blue marlin and another blue was lost.
Don’t forget that August and September offer anglers the best opportunity to land the most species in the East Cape. They are cross over months and we see many species heading south and others heading north.
