The fishing down here in the East Cape continues to be red hot. The tuna bite has moved to the north and is now right in front of La Ribera and Hotel Punta Colorada. Most boats have been catching limits on yellowfin tuna just a few miles off the shore. The tuna have not been very big, mostly football size, but there have been a few in the 35-50 pound range.

The dorado bite also continues to be red hot with many boats coming back to the dock with limits on dorado as well. The best dorado bite has been off of La Ribera and also right in front of Hotel Palmas De Cortez. Most of the dorado have been in the 10-25 pound range, but we did see a few that topped 35 pounds.

We are also starting to see bigger numbers on the sierra down near Punta Colorada and many anglers are catching them right off of the beach in front of the hotel.

The roosterfish are still hanging around as well, and many anglers are catching them right in front of Palmas De Cortez and Punta Colorada. Most of the roosters have been in the 10-20 pound range, but we did see a nice 35 pounder caught right in front of Hotel Palmas De Cortez the other day.

Some of the other species that we are still seeing out there include stripped marlin, sail fish, Jack Cravalle, skip jacks, cabrilla, pargo and wahoo.

The day time high this week in the East Cape has been a very comfortable 82 degrees, with a night time low of 68 degrees. The water temperatures continue to drop and we are now seeing water temperatures ranging from 75 to 80 degrees.

That's it for this week my friends. Until next week!
